Lesser property crime charges include car hopping, minor vandalism, minor shoplifting, tagging, and petty theft.
Are These Serious Felony Crimes?
While some crimes may result in only probation, other charges can land you in prison for decades. Georgia assignes Crime Severity Levels to all felony charges. If you are charged with any of these crimes, and the charge is entered as “attempted”, the severity level for that charge is rated at one level lower than the listed level. If someone is convicted of multiple offenses, the most serious of the offenses will determine the severity level. If a person is incarcerated for a parole or probation revocation, based on the commission of a new crime, the Crime Severity Level will be determined by that offense.
